I Got To Be A Middle School Teacher For A Day
Today I had the privilege of presenting for the Teach-In career day event at Carver Middle School.
I walked the halls, used their bathrooms, and felt super-old since most of the kids were born around the same year I graduated high school.
In addition to telling about 70 middle-schoolers about what I do everyday, I was reminded that teachers just don’t get enough credit.
The teachers at Carver have real relationships with their students. I saw so many hugs, and so much genuine concern for what was going on with each child and their individual needs. I mean, I have a hard time worrying about myself everyday let alone 70 other kids.
So parents, don’t take your child’s teacher for granted. And kids, do right by your teachers. Grow up and be amazing, because we all are rooting for you.
